Rhodia Solvay Engineering Polymers

Rhodia Solvay, part of the Solvay Group, is a 6.5 billion turnover specialty chemical company. Rhodia is a active worldwide company with more than 65 production sites.

Rhodia Solvay was founded on January 1, 1998 as a result of the of the reorganization of the chemicals, fibers and polymers activities of French company Rhône-Poulenc.

In the next ten years, Rhodia's profile changed considerably, making several important acquisitions and refocusing on leadership positions in key high growth markets including mild surfactants, phosphorus chemicals, high-performance silica, rare earth-based formulations and diphenols. Rhodia Solvay is also number two in polyamides and the number three producer of Cellulose Acetate tow.

In 2011, Rhodia was acquired by the Solvay Group.
